Parenting Elective

Would you like some encouragement and practical advice for the difficult scenarios faced by frustrated parents of strong-willed children?

Join us for this two-week parenting elective on Sundays, January 14 and 21 in the Chapel.

Register below by Wednesday, January 10.

We will watch short video episodes by Cynthia Tobias and then have round-table discussions about the following topics:
  • Understanding Your Strong-Willed Child
  • Tough Love and the Strong-Willed Child
  • Use the Magic Word with Your Strong-Willed Child
  • Tech, Devices and Your Strong-Willed Child

Cynthia Tobias, author of You Can't Make Me, But I Can Be Persuaded, says understanding your strong-willed child is the key to gaining obedience and cooperation in the home. Cynthia clarifies that strong-willed does not mean stubborn, rebellious, or defiant, but rather determined. She says that is the child that can say no, and she tells parents that it's good to have a good dose of strong-will in a child. But watch out. Make sure that child doesn't steamroll right over you. She gives a few tips to avoid that.

child Safety

The safety of every child involved in activities here is very important to us. To help ensure a safe atmosphere, we use a computerized security system. Each person entering the classroom areas (both children and leaders) are asked to wear the children's ministry name tag we provide. All children being picked up from their classrooms must be met by a parent or designated individual with a security tag provided at check-in.
In addition, all volunteers serving with minors go through an application process which includes obtaining PA Clearances.
